Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math/Science Teacher for middle and high school students. This role is ideal for an educator with a strong foundation in both math and science who is committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. This individual will be responsible for maintaining subject area expertise, developing standards-aligned lesson plans, and inspiring students to excel in their academic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Duties:
    • Develop and implement lesson plans for middle and high school math and science courses, ensuring alignment with state learning standards and grade-level learning objectives.
    • Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate varied student learning styles and needs.
    • Prepare students for assessments, evaluate their academic progress regularly, and adapt lessons to optimize student understanding and engagement.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Foster a welcoming, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and growth in math and science.
    • Manage classroom dynamics effectively to maintain an atmosphere conducive to focused learning.
    • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and goals.
    • Serve as an academic advisor, helping students navigate their educational journeys and develop strong problem-solving skills.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and student progress reports.
    • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support the school’s mission and educational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Valid teaching certification for the state of Florida.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience teaching math and/or science to middle or high school students preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and implement effective lesson plans across math and science disciplines.
    • Experience in fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of curriculum standards in both math and science.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in educational technology and software for instruction and record-keeping.

    • Prepare students for all required assessments and evaluate their progress regularly.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Create an inviting, exciting, and innovative learning environment.
    • Engage in effective classroom management to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
    • Facilitate effective communication between the school and families.
    • Serve as an advisor to students, supporting their academic and personal development.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare and submit accurate written reports in a timely manner, including student progress reports and report cards.
    • Enter attendance and grades daily in Jupiter.
    • Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other required school events.
    • Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Assistant Principal.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Valid teaching certification for the state of Florida.
  • Experience:
    • Previous teaching experience in a K-12 setting preferred.
    • Proven ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans.
    • Experience with differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of subject area and curriculum standards.
