East Carolina University  |  Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology
Nova Southeastern University  |  Master of Science in Educational Leadership
Argosy University  |  Working on Studies in Mental Health Counseling

Estrella is a lifelong learner who has been in education for 35 years. She started her teaching career in North Carolina as a Spanish teacher. When she moved to Orange County, she held several positions. As a COMPACT Specialist, she was responsible for aiding at-risk students. She worked closely with administrators, teachers, parents and community members to improve student performance.

As a Learning Resource Specialist, she worked in a key leadership position implementing and managing the Team “Xtreme” program for low performing students, implementing and managing a 7th period class for low readers, recruiting mentors, and working closely with the business community.

As an Assistant Principal, she worked closely with the Principal to ensure quality teaching and learning, creating parent and staff newsletters, developing teacher and student incentive programs, and developing and implementing a Saturday Etiquette Program for students. As a Principal, Estrella continued to provide leadership and guidance to a culturally diverse population.

She has superb ability in achieving results through inspiring and supporting staff as well as students.
